Prague Castle Tickets

Prague Castle tickets: the Main circuit is 450 CZK (300 reduced, 950 family) for St Vitus, the Old Royal Palace, St George's and Golden Lane. Where to buy it.

Updated November 2026

Buy the Main circuit (Pražský hrad - hlavní okruh). It is the one ticket that opens St Vitus Cathedral, the Old Royal Palace, St George’s Basilica and Golden Lane, and it costs 450 CZK for adults, 300 CZK reduced and 950 CZK for a family (hrad.cz price list, read November 2026). You can buy it at the information centres on the Second and Third Courtyards, or online: for online sales Prague Castle’s own site names GetYourGuide, where Prague Castle Administration sells it as Prague: Official Entry Ticket to Prague Castle, from US$21 (checked November 2026).

Powerd by GetYourGuide

The calendar above is the castle’s own ticket, with 24,638 reviews (checked November 2026). It is scanned at the door of each building, and you can start at any of the four.

Reduced prices are for young people from 6 to 16, full-time students up to 26 and people 65 and over; a family ticket covers one to five children under 16 with up to two adults. Children under 6 and holders of a disability card go free. Every ticket is valid for two days, each building takes one entry, and tickets bought at the castle cannot be refunded (hrad.cz price list valid from 1 March 2024, still the current one in November 2026). The old circuits A, B and C no longer exist; if a site still sells “circuit B”, it means the Main circuit.

Where to buy it

At the castle, tickets for every circuit are sold at the information centres on the Second Courtyard and the Third Courtyard, opposite the cathedral, from 9:00. The Third Courtyard desk also hires out the castle’s audio guide (350 CZK and a 500 CZK deposit, about three hours) and books the castle’s own guides (250 CZK an hour a person in English, at least four people, ticket extra).

Online, Prague Castle’s site does not run a shop of its own for the Main circuit: it sends buyers to the GetYourGuide network. That is the ticket in the calendar above, sold by Prague Castle Administration. At the Czech National Bank’s rate of 2 November 2026, 450 CZK was about US$20.70, so the online price and the desk price are near enough the same; what the online one adds is a ticket in your phone before you reach the queue, and free cancellation up to 24 hours ahead.

How long the ticket takes

Map of Prague Castle: the walk through the four buildings on the Main circuit ticket, numbered 1 St Vitus Cathedral, 2 Old Royal Palace, 3 St George's Basilica, 4 Golden Lane, a walk of 834 m from the castle information centre to the Black Tower east gate
The Main circuit in order: St Vitus Cathedral, the Old Royal Palace, St George’s Basilica and Golden Lane, then out by the Black Tower east gate; 834 m on foot from the information centre.

The four buildings sit in a line from west to east, so one walk of 834 m covers them: in through the cathedral’s west portal, across to the Old Royal Palace and Vladislav Hall, St George’s Basilica on the square behind the cathedral, then Golden Lane under the north wall and out through the east gate. Allow two and a half to three hours inside; the guided tours of the same four run about 2.5 hours and the castle’s audio guide about three. Because the ticket lasts two days, a late-afternoon arrival can take the cathedral and the palace on the first day and the rest the next morning.

In winter (1 November to 31 March) the buildings open at 9:00 and hrad.cz prints both 16:00 and 17:00 as the closing time on different pages, so plan to be in the last building by 15:30. St Vitus opens to visitors at 12:00 on Sundays.
